about us.

That’s The Badger Productions was founded in 2025 by Adam and Lucy Boniface, a husband-and-wife team with a deep passion for theatre, surrounded by an incredible community of talented performers (and friends!). Founding That’s The Badger Productions has been a long-held dream—one that’s finally becoming a reality.

Why “That’s the Badger”?

If you’ve ever heard the phrase “That’s the badger!”, you’ll know it means that’s exactly it!—that perfect moment when something just clicks. That’s what theatre should feel like.

For us, great theatre is about connection. It’s about those performances that inspire, move, entertain, and leave you with a sense of pure joy. Whether it tugs at your heart, makes you laugh until your sides hurt, or a story that lingers in your mind long after the curtain falls—that’s the magic we strive to create.

That’s The Badger Productions is about chasing that feeling, crafting those unforgettable moments, and sharing them with audiences who love theatre as much as we do.

  • Co-Founder and Musical Director

Adam is a passionate Musical Director and Co-Founder of That’s The Badger Productions! After studying at Oxford Brookes University, he moved to Leeds in 2007 and has been rocking Yorkshire ever since as a Musical Director, singer, and percussionist. He’s sung with big-name choirs like the BBC Symphony Chorus and played percussion for the National Youth Wind Orchestra. Adam now leads Yeadon Theatre Company and Leeds Gilbert & Sullivan Society, with award-winning shows like Sweeney Todd and West Side Story. When he's not making theatre magic, he's out of his sett and running vocal workshops!

  • Co-Founder

Lucy is Co-Founder of That’s The Badger Productions—a dream she’s finally dug up and brought to life! Lucy’s theatre journey started at age 10 when she joined the Knaresborough School of Speech and Drama, and she’s been hooked ever since. After studying Drama at the University of Hull, Lucy has spent the last 15 years immersed in local theatre, both on and off stage. She has over 50 plays and musicals under her belt. When not on stage, you’ll find her badgering away, keeping Sett HQ running.

  • DIRECTOR

Rick trained at Bretton Hall, earning his Acting degree from the University of Leeds. As Principal of his own theatre school for 10 years, he directed everything from Mean Girls to Cats, even staging productions at Her Majesty’s Theatre in London and breaking a world record along the way! More recently, his efforts on Brassed Off earned him Best Director and Best Play at the 2024 Wharfedale Festival of Theatre. If he’s not busy directing, he’s likely performing, writing, or dreaming up his next big production … probably with a cuppa in hand!
